The food was amazing! The service was great from the bartender! He was so friendly and nice! We sat at the bar as the tables were full. Definitely recommend reservations as not much table seating! Margaritas were awesome! Recommend having dinner here!

Absolutely the best Mexican food on the Outer Banks! Great flavor and plenty of food! Highly recommend and will certainly go back during the summer to enjoy their outdoor patio.

Right when we walked in we were waited on and told 5 minute wait for a table. Then bartender starts talking to us making us feel welcomed while we waited. The wife the flautas which were excellent. I got the shrimp tacos. Really liked them. Would have loved them if they came with cilantro versus lettuce. Oh and I added the pickled onions from my wife’s flautas and they were awesome! Great service and food here!

Stop your searching and eat here. You will not find better food, better service, or better value anywhere else on the peninsula. For years we’ve eaten here and every time we enjoy our experience. We love it here and look forward to our next visit.

This is the best restaurant in Corolla. We’ve been coming to Agave Roja for many years and have had stellar service and food each and every time. We’ve eaten our way through most of the menu at this point and now have some favorites that we dream about on our drive down. The Shrimp Azteca has one of the best presentations, arriving at the table piping hot in a molcajete. The shrimp have been cooked perfectly every time and the broth is very flavorful with a little kick. The guacamole...outstanding. The street corn is so tasty. Fajitas are also delicious. We’ve also had such tasty cocktails each and every time we’ve gone. The servers are very accommodating, cheerful and truly there to make sure you have a great experience. Thank you to everyone that works there and to the owner(s) for creating a restaurant that we think about all year long. Coming here is a core memory and we are so fortunate to be patrons.

This is a nice sit down Mexican restaurant, small, but they make a way. The food was good, the service was amazing, and it was an overall good experience.

Was recommended to come here from my cousin who was getting married! I called for a reservation and they accommodated our party of nine amazingly! Our waiter was amazing/kind and the food was phenomenal!! We loved it so much we wanted to come back a second time with more of our family, but they were closed. Hoping we have a chance to visit again!

The food here is good and our waiter did a good job. I wouldn’t recommend this for a large group. Prices are a bit higher compared to the location across the road as well.
